Description

Album cover design for someone =D

This took me around 4 hours: planning the design > research and images > pencil rough sketches > pencil draft design > black ink pen > clean up > scan > photoshop minor editing > choosing colors > texture > save!

Yaay I'm really proud of it! The gloomy-ness was done to match the theme of the album (breakups, hate, etc.) The name of the album, Skeleton Wind, inspired me most though. It's a quite abstract drawing of a tree being blown over by the wind. The heart and the moon were added for... I dunno, something different? Purple is a gothic/emo kind of color, and it also represents sensuality/ insanity. Black represents insecurity/ loneliness. Red represents love/ hate.

I really love this. I'm a massive fan of Pattern, Line styles of work and this one really did it for me. You don't see much styles like this used for a CD Cover, well I haven't so I believe it was very clever of you to actually use this technique. It's rough edges give it that extra bump towards your intended purpose, however even though it does work well, I personally think it could have worked that much better if the edges were more clean and sharp. The colors work perfectly along with the texture that you've placed for the background. What really caught my eye is the Red used for the moon and the title and heart, especially with it working with the pattern. However seeing the album is about break-ups and what not, you should have included more that influenced its definition rather then having a single heart that was bleeding. I'm picking up the idea that the pattern on the left is the wind. Great work trying to incorporate wind into the design however I think it should have been more fluent. Non the less you did an amazing job trying to get it looking the way you did and cudos to you for making it look like wind blowing a tree. Overall I believe you have achieved your goal in creating a dark and 'gloomy-ness' style to the design and that you should definitely be proud of it . Well done <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/s/s…" width="15" height="15" alt=":)" title=":) (Smile)"/>
